We have spent nearly seven months in the Port de l'Arsenal. During that time we have tried to get out and about to see as much of Paris as we can. I thought it might be fun to list what we've been up to.

Paris FR 14-26 April 2024 We kept deferring our departure to wait for lower water and slower currents, so we had some more time to see some of the sights of Paris that we had missed so far. There is always something more to see in Paris. Effiel Tower seen from the Trocadéro
1-13 April 2024 Paris, Rouen, Honfleur, Bayeaux, D-Day Beaches, Caen FR We originally asked the port capitaine for an extra week in port to wait for the strong current on the Seine to subside, but after more rain and even higher water we asked for a month. So we've been told we can stay up to 2 May if we need to, as someone is coming to take our spot then. Eglise Jeanne d'Arc - Rouen
17-31 March 2024 Paris We expected the final couple of weeks of March to be our last in Paris, so we had a few jobs to do to get ready to leave, and we also had some more visitors, so it was quite a busy time. From the Louvre
7-16 March 2024 Paris After so much wet and cold weather we were pleased that the weather was finally getting warmer and dryer. Aura at the Invalides
19th - 29th February 2024 Les Eyzies, France Howard headed down to the Perigord with our friend Peter to do some work on Janet and Peter's farm. We had been there in November and this time the idea was to burn what had been cut down in November (we had arranged a fire permit) and do some further clean up. Neither Janet (Peter's wife) or I was there so it was men's time.
13 February - 6 March 2024 Paris FR The last few weeks in Paris have been dominated by poor health and lot's of rain. But in spite of that we still managed to get out and about a bit.
Marlow, Wymondham, Ipswich England 2 - 12 February Howard has been a fan of the Ipswich Town Football Club since he was a lad and went each week with his Grandad. So of course he wanted to go to a game since we are in Europe for the winter. We took the opportunity to catch up on friends while we were in England. View from the Thames near Marlow
23 - 31 January 2024 With the weather a bit milder we are getting out and about a bit more. We saw quite a range of things over this last days of January. Concert at the Philharmonie de Paris
8 - 22 January 2024 Paris (and Howard in the Netherlands) We had a couple of weeks of very cold weather, with sub-zero C temperatures most days. While the snow was very pretty, and a treat for a Melbourne Girl, it was also a bit treacherous.
We also had some improvement in my foot which I'll explain at the end. |
