Dendre River and Blaton-Ath Canal in Wallonia 25-30 June After Geraardsbergen we were in Wallonia, and we had plenty of locks to get through to get to the end. We had a couple of hot days, but mostly we had pleasant weather, and took our time to go along this quiet stretch of waterway.

Geraardsbergen and Vlaardingen 21-24 June Howard left on Friday morning with our friends Marg and Adrian. He was competing in a 24 hour fishing competition in Vlaardingen NL with our friend Ruud, and I had the weekend to myself on the boat in Geraardsbergen (Grammont) BE.
Scheldt and Dender Rivers 15-21 June We had a great week with friends from New Zealand Marg and Adrian. We travelled on the large tidal river the Sheldt from Antwerp, and then onto the smaller Dender river.
Antwerp 11-15 June We stayed at the Jachthaven at Antwerp. Friends from the DBA Tom and Liza from Daffodil had a permanent mooring there and other friends Sid and Jan on Sherbourne arrived while we were there, so we had quite a social time during our stay in Antwerp. The Jachthaven is in a great spot close to the inner city.
Trip to Anwerp 7-10 June Our trip from the shipyard in Keizersveer to Antwerp was on some of the busiest commercial shipping channels we had been on. And we had gale force winds as well.
29 May - 6 June Keizersveer Our next adventure was going into dry dock for Moondance's 7 year re-certification (ES-TRIN or CVB). This is effectively a safety and compliance check, and included checking the thickness of the hull.
We were quite excited as we had never seen her out of the water, but also a little nervous as we weren't sure what to expect. |
