27-28 September We had 2 days to get to Bruges from Gent. The first day was less than three hours to moor at Schipdonk just near the lock. In the afternoon we went for a bike ride and late had a BBQ dinner on the back deck.

20-24 September Oudenaarde Town Hall and Sunday morning cyclists Wednesday 24th We left Mons on Wednesday and headed towards Peruwulz. However we had such a good days sailing we went a little further and reached Peronnes.
19 September We arrived in Mons yesterday and had a very quite afternoon. We are moored on the Le Grand Large (literally the big wide). Howard fished this morning and there was also a junior sailing race.
17 - 18 September Yesterday we went along the new Canal Du Centre and descended the Strepy-Thieu Ascenseur. This is boat lift that takes boats up or down almost 74 m. The largest in the world.
14-16 September We are very fortunate as friends that we made in Namur offered to visit us and help wit our cooling problem, so at about midday Dawn and Marcel arrived. They were on their way home to Venlo in the Netherlands from the coast. Dawn generously gave Pete and Wendy a lift to the station while Howard and Marcel started to look at the problem again.
It looked as though the pump wasn't working so they set off and were gone a few hours. They had been to a chandlery and a "pump specialist". They had worked out that the pump was installed incorrectly and was mis-aligned. So they rectified that and confirmed that it was now working, but it wasn't getting enough flow of water from the inlet. Where we were moored we were accumulating a lot rubbish between the boat and the wall - which was the side of the inlets. So we turned the boat around. Then I volunteered to go for a swim to see if I could clear the inlet. It was very murky and cold. Also there was a bit of a flow, so we set up a rope that I could hold to maintain my position. 10-13 September As many of you know, Howard went away for about 10 days to help out the NZ team at the World Fishing Championships in Ronquieres, leaving me alone on Moondance in Namur.
Sunday was my last day to myself so, after saying goodbye to Jo and Tim - my neighbours on Maria - who were so friendly and helpful, I went for a bike ride down the Sambre 3 & 5 September I have tried to use the spare time I have wisely, so I have been on a couple of bike rides.
1-6 September While I have been here in Namur I have had a few chances to go and look around the town, including doing a walking tour on Monday. It is a lovely city - the capital of Wallonia, the French speaking part of Belgium.
