20 April We have decided to stay in Ypres for the Anzac Day services. So yesterday we went to Kortrijk for the day on the train. The weather was again delightful and we had a pleasant day walking around the town. One of the highlights was going into the historic town hall. I particularly liked this floral installation in the church. We also spent some time in the beguinage. There was a museum which explained a lot about their history including their mysticism and persecution. On the island they had a beach type set-up. We enjoyed the town and perhaps one day we will visit again on he canal, rather than on the train.

I love Kortrijk. Well it is Courtrai for me since I am French speaker...
