Rocmador, Les Eyzies, Sirueil, Sarlat, Montignac, Saint Geniès, Chateau Puymartin FR 9-14 June 2022 The second part of my trip away from the boat with my business school friends, was to visit Janet's farmhouse in the Perigord region, close to the town of Les Eyzies. As Janet, Eliza, Sandy and I were leaving Toulouse in the morning, we decided to have a stop off on the way to the farm at Rocmador. We arrived just in time to have a restaurant lunch and then had a look around before, starting on the second part of our journey to Janet's Farm - Langlade. The next morning I got up early to take a few photos. After all the driving and organising and jetlag, Janet and Sandy had a nap in the afternoon, so Eliza and I drove up the hill to the nearby town of Sireuil. We then went for a little drive ending up at Chateau Commarque. We didn't go in, but drove right up to it. I had visited before in 2009 and it is interesting to see the mediavel chateau on one side, which is being recovered and restored, and the prehistoric village remains on the other. When we got home Sandy was up so we had a game of boules on the very uneven grass near the house. And then in the evening we went into Les Eyzies for a Pizza dinner. On Saturday morning we drove into nearby Sarlat-le-Canada for the very popular market. I decided to let the others do our shopping and I enjoyed roaming around with my camera. I the afternoon, Janet and Sandy headed to Bordeaux to pick up Rachel and Jennifer, so Eliza and I had a walk around Les Ezyies, and then made dinner, using many of the ingredients we had bought in the morning. Unfortunately the others were delayed due to roadworks, but it was great when they arrived that the six of us were all together. On Sunday we headed off to Montignac to the flea market which unfortunately we couldn't find. We had a look around and a nice lunch. On the way home we stopped at the beautiful town of Saint Geniès where there were some building which had full lauze stone roofs. Our final stop was Chateau Puymartin. On Monday, five of us went for a canoe along the Vezere River - Sandy decided to have a restful day at home. Thanks to Janet for her photos on the river. They took us up stream in their mini-bus and then let us drift or paddle down the river. It was a warm day and lovely scenery but we were all tired towards the end. On our last night all togther we relaxed in the garden. Eliza, Jennifer, Sandy, Rachel and Janet Tuesday morning we all had to go to catch a plane in Toulouse. Eliza had an earlier plane to Amsterdam for her connection to USA and the rest were flying back to Paris. Jennifer and I drove Eliza back leaving before 7am, while the others did the final clean of the house and joined us later. It had been great to visit Janet's place again (for me the 3rd visit) and to spend special time with my good friends. Rachel, Jennifer, Eliza, Sandy, Janet and me

What a reunion, Deb. Nice to see your photos of friends, and to recognize them! Your eye for architecture and composition is impressive.
