30 June - 9 July We arrived in Dordrecht on Thursday 29 June and had a couple of days to look around with Eliza before we headed off on our side trips. On Friday afternoon we had a look around the city and then Howard and I visited with Austin and Susi on their boat Freshwater. Then Eliza took us out for a lovely meal. On Saturday we saw more of the city including a bike ride to the Villa Augustus which was the weird building we had seen from the river. They had an impressive vegetable garden, cafe and hotel. In the evening we caught the water bus to Rotterdam, to attend our friend Sophie's 40th birthday. We caught an Uber home. Eliza and I had to leave early the next morning for the airport for our trip to France, as there were works on the train lines and buses were replacing trains to Schiedam and Rotterdam. While we were away the harbour filled up quite a lot, and in some places the boats were 3 deep, so on Monday (9th) we enjoyed watching the boats prepare to leave as people had to get out of the way of boats they were moored against. It did make me wonder how we will get out on Tuesday morning. More photos of Dordrecht. Finally - can anyone explain this, seen above a door. It looks like two blokes hugging, who have tails of fishes and horses feet as well.

I think they are icthyocentaurs, perhaps Bythos and Aperos. More detail in Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyocentaurs
