The work continues on Moondance. A lot of the finishes are now in, including the floor. Even the hydraulic steering is in. In the bedroom the bed has been finished with lovely wood and curved corners. There is room under the mattress for storage in spite of all sorts of other things being under there. We will have some type of cupboards or box between the bed and the new portholes, and there is already a shelf above the porthole as well. The other cupboards in the bedroom and mostly finished. We chose door handles this week. The doors are now installed - just need to be varnished, and the frosted glass installed in the bathroom door. Then we can enclose the sliding door and install the hall radiator. (This photo was taken before the floors were laid.) The floor in the bathroom is now installed, and we are ready for the final plumbing and electrical work. The boat will soon be heading back to her winter home, but there is still a lot more work to be done. The outside painting has been delayed as the original team had to withdraw due to family issues. The electrical fittings have been ordered but haven't arrived. In addition we are getting a screen put on the pigeon hatch, and the instrument panel will be relaid, the electrical infrastructure is being upgraded, and we are getting canvas covers for the outside steering position and the pigeon hatch. Still plenty to do. Thanks to Mandy Boere for the photos. Categories
