7-8 Aug We are moored at Sleeuwijk, which is over the river from Gorinchem. We decided to moor here as we could book in and they have plenty of spots for a boat over 20m long. We couldn't reach the main moorings in Gorinchem as in the north there is a fixed bridged only 2.85m high, and in the south the lock is only 4.5 m wide. We are 3m high and 4.47m wide, (we are told) so we decided not to try. There are a lot of large and fancy boats for sale in the marina, but none have tempted us to trade-in Moondance. There is quite a contrast from the fancy boats in the marina, and the working boats next to it. Monday we decided to take a day off, so I slept in until about 11:30. What a luxury. Then, after a trip to the super market we had our friends Ruud and Petra over for dinner. It was a lovely day and we even put up the party tent. Today (Tuesday), we caught the ferry into Gorinchen, (pronounced Horkum). We bought a walking tour map and had a look around the town. Even though the weather was grey and drizzly we enjoyed the city. We decided not to visit the museum as the history of the town was all in Dutch, and the special exhibition was "the cow in art", which we were not that interested in.

Yes I can well understand how that exhibition would not have appealed. Still, you have been drinking deep of the Dutch life so it may only be a little while before you will appreciate the subject as an art form. Great photos and nice stories!
