11-14 October One of the key reasons that we came to Andalucia was to visit the Alhambra Palace in Granada. This was the last bastion on Moorish control in Spain before the re-conquest was complete in 1492. We got into Granada on Thursday night and went up to the nearby lookout to watch the sunset with lots of others. I booked our tickets three month in advance to ensure that we got in as we had heard that it is usually fully booked well in advance. So we went at 9am on the Friday morning. It is a facinating place with so much to see. We spent 5 hours looking around, but the highlight was the Nasrid Palaces which was our first stop. The next day we did a walking tour of the streets and had a look around. We met some people who hadn't been able to get tickets to the Alhambra so we were pleased that we had done our homework. The city was very interesting with a Gypsy area which we wandered into one night. We could easily have spent a lot more time here.
