This winter we were planning to get our kitchen re-done. Before we left the boat last year we went with Davy, our boat technician, to choose and order an Ikea kitchen, which was then delivered to him, for him to install over the winter. He was also going to replace some of the wall panels, put in new lighting, replace our kitchen exhaust fan, put in a couple of shelves and a water filter and a few other things. He started pulling the old kitchen apart in late February, but unfortunately found a lot of water damage, dry rot and mould. Even the floor is affected. Photos from 18th February. So there will be a lot more work to be done to get ready before we install the new kitchen, including removing everything, treating the walls and putting in new insulation. But at least it will be healthier and in good condition when we finally get there. Video from 3rd March Davy has made good progress but there is now no need to rush as we don't know when we will be returning to Moondance. The worldwide Corona Virus Pandemic Crisis has dramatically affected our plans, with both Belgium and France in full lock-down and borders into Europe closed. We have gotten a credit from our airline to be used when we re-book flights before 30th June and we hope that things will be sorted out quickly. If so we will return to Moondance later in the year for a short cruise. But that doesn't seem likely at the moment. It may end up being next year. Take care. Unhappy surprises!!! It's good that there is no rush so this can all be repaired correctly. It will be glorious when it has the new kitchen......
