Yesterday Howard's fishing gear arrived and he has now stored that all away in the Forepeak. He also got his fishing license so, of course, he is out fishing this morning. We have been busy over the past few days. Buying supplies and other odds and ends for the boat. Deb now has a Yoga mat and dumb bells. We have a new kettle, a coffee plunger, and a toaster. Also some new wine glasses, some bowls, a bread knife and steak knives, a laundry basket and quite a few other small things designed to make life more comfortable. We have also been reviewing what we have on the boat and deciding what to keep and what should go. We've also been reviewing our plans for the upgrades to the boat with a tape measure in hand. So this afternoon we head off on our first voyage. The first challenge will be getting out of the Marina as we will have to back out without hitting the two boats behind us. The Marina Captain is going to help us fend off if we need to. We decided to leave this afternoon as there is an obstruction about an hour down the canal, which our map shows will be there from 6am until 5pm daily. So we aim to pass that this evening, and then go a bit further down the canal. There is a Marina, but we might just pull up to a quay.
We could get to Elburg or Harderwijk in 2 days from there if we needed two, but will probably take 3 or even 4 days as we don't need to be there until Monday.

Tricky way to start. Best of luck. We also found it difficult to extract all we would like to have from our previous owners, although we were fortunate that Paul had the better English. Still, we've learnt a lot of stuff by experience that I'm sure he could have told us with better English and more time. What are your rough plans beyond Elburg? Where is Moondance wintering? We'll be watching keenly from Sunbury.
