13-14 June Since still cannot move the boat, we decided to do an overnight trip to Enkhuisen. Enkhuisen is on the other side of the Ijsselmeer, and we have been told about the great museum there the Zuidersee Museum. So we headed off in Tuesday morning. We cycled to the station, caught a train to Stavoren, and then the 80 minute ferry to Enkuisen. The trip over was fine, with plenty of boats around. When we arrived, we dropped our bag at the BNB and headed for the museum. It really was amazing. The outdoor museum had lots of historic houses and buildings brought there from all around the former Zuidersee. And others replicas were made. Many were just normal houses but some had a special story or were in some way unique, like the steam laundry. Some buildings interiors were set up as they used to be, and some had people working using the old methods. The buildings were arranged as towns. One of the odd things was a collection of heads each of which used to be at the front of a pharmacists shop. After our visit to the outdoor museum we visit4d the indoor museum just across the road. The had an impressive displsy of wooden boats and also had exhibitions on selected towns in the region. Very interesting, especially as we've been to many of these towns now. That evening we did a small walk round town, and had dinner overlooking the Dromdaris (the impressive old gate into the town). The next morning we had a further walk around the delightful town before catching the boat back to Stavoren. We had a quick walk around Stavoren before returning to Workum on the train. Back at home we put up the "party tent" at last.
