1-8 July I spent a week in the Perigord region of France with good friends from Business School. It was lovely to catch up with them all and spend time in this fabulous region. The highlight for me was the canoe trip along the Dordogne river. Because of my sore shoulder, I was "ballast" and "the turbo charger", so had plenty of time to take photos. It was a glorious day floating past the chateaus and countryside. We stopped for lunch at Beynac, and even had a swim. We also went to St Emilion and visited a winery. On the way home we got caught in a dramatic storm and had stop for a while as we couldn't see through the heavy rain, and then dodge fallen trees. Finally after we got home the lamp post next to the house was hit by lightening. Our electricity was still on but we lost our internet. There were visits to other towns including local Les Eyzies and Sarlat, and Saint Amand de Coly. Also a trip to visit a walnut oil producer. It was lovely to spend time in this interesting area of France, with great friends. While I was away, Howard flew to London to spend time with his son Chris who was there for a conference. Chris and Howard came back to Dordrecht together on Wednesday and spent some time on the boat before he flew to Prague for the weekend.
I was disappointed that the timing meant I wouldn't see him, but it sounds like he and Howard had a great time, especially as England has made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Loving all the photos and glad you both had great side trips. Haven't commented recently as looking after Pete after his other hand operation last week. Hope your shoulder is improving Deb. Xxx
