20-23 July After Zwolle we headed to Kampen along the Ijssel River, where we spent a couple of days, before heading to Harderwijk. Is this Noah's ark? Anyway - on Thursday 20th we left Zwolle and headed along the Ijssel to Kampen. Even though we have been to Kampen before we hadn't travelled this part of the river or seen the town from this angle. We had a look around town with Pete and Sue, but we also took some time to do a few jobs. Sue was able to show me a cute laneway that we hadn't seen before. On Saturday morning Pete and Sue caught a bus and train back to Amsterdam and we pulled a long day to head toward Harderwijk. It was 7 hours cruising. The strangest thing we saw was Noah's Ark trying to come through the lift bridge at Elburg. What a sight and what a close fit. Apparently it is going to be based in their harbour as a tourist attraction. We were lucky enough to arrive at the bridge as they were coming though. Lot's of spectators. We stayed one night at Flevostrand - a marina / holiday park, and then came over to Harderwijk this morning (Sunday) to try and be assured of a mooring. All of our maps were out of date, so we are happy to have found a secure mooring not far from the town.
Tomorrow our next crew arrives.

We passed the Ark at Dordrecht- amazing. At one time it was planned to take it to Brazil for the Olympics - can you imagine that boat on the Atlantic Ocean?
