8 - 22 January 2024 Paris (and Howard in the Netherlands) We had a couple of weeks of very cold weather, with sub-zero C temperatures most days. While the snow was very pretty, and a treat for a Melbourne Girl, it was also a bit treacherous.
We also had some improvement in my foot which I'll explain at the end.

2 - 8 January 2024 Our first guest for 2024, Hilary, arrived in the evening of the 2nd January. So we had almost a week to do a few things around Paris with her. Thanks to Hilary for some of these images. Le Festival du Merveilleux
26 December 2023 to 2 January 2024 We were trying to do something everyday. Sometimes this was a museum, or visiting somewhere that had lights or views, or entertaining.
Our time in Paris is going very quickly, we are almost half way through.
We have been trying to get around to take photos of the Christmas lights and the Christmas Markets and enjoy the Chritmas vibe. We've now had time to settle into living in the Marina in Paris, and start exploring.
We love living in Paris. Every time we leave the boat (and even when we don't) we feel like we are in Paris. Of course we are in Paris, but what I mean is that it looks and feels like Paris, even if we are on a unknown suburban street. And we've found it much easier than we expected. Here many people (especially in hospitality and touristy jobs) speak some English and many museums will lend you a wheelchair which makes it much easier for me to see a lot more given that my feet are still quite sore. Les Eyzies, Domme, Salignac 1-11 November 2023 We all left the boat on the 31st October. Michelle was off to Poland leaving at 4:15am. Daniel left at about 10:30 heading for Ireland and then London. And Howard picked up our hire car at 10:30 for our trip to the Perigord. Porte des Tours - Domme
Paris, Saint-Denis FR 1-31 October 2023 We were pleased to finally arrived at the Port de l'Arsenal which would be our home for the next 6 months, but we had a big list of jobs to complete.
The Arsenal is in the 12th Arronsdissement and is very close to the Place de la Bastille, so it is a great spot for exploring Paris. The start of the month was unseasonably warm, which meant we were still wearing shorts and having meals on the back deck. But by the end of the month it was cold and rainy. In October, after the end of cruising, I have taken very few photos as you will see. More details of our jobs are at the end of the blog post. Andresy, Conflans, Chatou, La Villette, Paris Port de l'Arsenal FR 26 September to 1 October 2023 We left Cergy for our final few days of cruising to arrive in Port Arsenal on 1st October. We have done this route before but there is always something new to see, including 2 museums that we hadn't gotten to before. Vic-sur-Aisne, Compiegne, L'Isle Adam, Cergy FR 16-15 September 2023 We left Soissons on Saturday morning. Our last cruising guests had left and we would have some time on our own. Cergy Charivari Parade
Soissons, Septmounts, Berzy-le-Sec FR 11-16 September We arrived in Soissons at lunch time on Monday. Our friend Geoff who had been walking in southern France joined us for a few days and brought baguettes for lunch. View of Abbaye Saint-Jean-des-Vignes
